Hypothetical question

As I may have mentioned, we’re getting closer to the first Monsterhood book.

I guess to sell said book I would need to set up some kind of store.

Hypothetically, said store could also be used to sell T-shirts.

Hypothetically, what would you, the Monsterhood reader, want to see on said T-shirts?

    Robot’s head.

    Tony,

T-shirts from comic strips are a good idea. However, you need a catch phrase to go along with the character image. For instance, Dave Kellet sells a shirt with his character, Arthur, with the phrase “Lucky Duck”, because, well … he’s a duck. Your character, Skunk-Ape, is similar to Scott’s troll, named Skull. Scott Kurtz, of PVP comics, uses his troll character a lot because there are a lot of troll related catch phrases that webcomics readers identify with easily. So, before you sink a lot of money into T-shirts, come up with the funny phrase FIRST – then add an appropriate character image. Just my 2 cents on this “hypothetical” question.

Witty slogans aren’t necessarily the best thing to have on t-shirts.

A shirt with the a group shot of the characters would probably be a good seller.
Witty slogans are alright for certain characters. Like I could see a shirt that said something like ‘Searching for the Skunk-Ape’. But it wouldn’t work for someone like Vampire with something like ‘Love bites’ – when we know he has some sort of interest in Miss Gorgan.

Great input, guys. Group shot suggestion has come up before, so that might be a go if and when I do this. I like the idea of Robot’s Head too, maybe with the Three Laws of Evil Robotics.

Personally, if you’re gonna go that route, I think I’d prefer Evil Supercomputer. Especially considering the change in Robot’s outlook, but I’d likely buy it, either way.
